Day: Wednesday 23rd April - 21st May - 5 week course
Cost: Total of £50.00 for the 5 lessons / Time: 3.10pm - 4.20pm / Open: Yr 1 - Yr 6
Contents: Children will create a stunning DOG and CAT artwork whilst also keeping a small sketch pad of animal studies that they will compile. Both final artwork and sketch book will be ready to take home at the end of the course.
Materials: Newspaper print, recycled items, paint and markers on thick A2 paper, small sketch pad.
Learning outcomes: Children will get to create a 3D composition with different items whilst using newspaper print to enhance the portraits of the animals and give the artwork energy and life. They will learn how to construct the artwork and incorporate text with image. Use of sketch pads to create final image.
ARTIST: Deborah Shapiro, an artist ripping up magazines into little pieces to create something new. After 30 years of a career as a producer/videographer, she had a jaw surgery that ultimately changed her direction in life. As she was recovering, her mother gave her magazines to keep her busy and she began to create art with the pages. Looking at other similar artists also.

Emmylou is a professional artist who has been teaching art for over 20 years on how to create their very own masterpiece. Introducing students to the influences and techniques of famous artists and incorporating these methods in their own work.
Throughout courses, and depending on the material for that project, your child will explore the potential of different materials throughout each course.
