Winkleigh: March - April Project - David Walliams meets Van Gogh 3D Poster!

Day: Tuesday 4th March - 1st April - 5 week course
Cost: Total of £50.00 for the 5 lessons / Time: 3.30pm - 4.30pm / Open: Yr 1 - Yr 6
Contents: In this exciting unique project, we will be looking at the artist Vincent Van Gogh and the books of David Williams to inform our large poster design! Each child will draw illustrations from Williams books and incorporate them within a stunning 3D Van Gogh painting 3D painting!
Materials: Cardboard, thick large A2 paper, inks, pens, markers, paint and felt tips
Learning outcomes: Students will learn how to use the different mediums, looking at illustrational characters and use them as reference. They will learn about art history with Van Gogh as the basis of the artwork, creating his style and techniques such as his famous paint brushstrokes and use of colour. Contrasting both older and present artists within one artwork and learning about fonts, (lettering) and the use of them in imagery such as a poster.
ARTIST: Vincent Willem Van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who is among the most famous and influential figures in the history of Western art. In just over a decade, he created approximately 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of them in the last two years of his life.
David Walliams: David Edward Walliams, known professionally as David Walliams, is an English comedian, actor, writer, and television personality. He is best known for his work with Matt Lucas on the BBC sketch comedy series Little Britain and Come Fly With Me.

Emmylou is a professional artist who has been teaching art for over 20 years on how to create their very own masterpiece. Introducing students to the influences and techniques of famous artists and incorporating these methods in their own work.
Throughout courses, and depending on the material for that project, your child will explore the potential of different materials throughout each course.
